In the recent past, there has been a dramatic revolution in the food choices of people who are increasingly opting for nutrient-rich foods like cereals, grains, seeds and millets. Of these, superfood Millets have long been favoured for their many health benefits, a traditional grain, very popular in Indian subcontinent where it has been grown and eaten for the past 5000 years.
The Resolution adopted by the United Nations, General Assembly on 3rd March 2021, decides to declare 2023 the International Year of Millets. The resolution is intended to increase public awareness on the health benefits of millets.
